2013 Updates
Diesel started off September by going RWD from the bred by class in Albion, NY.  We’re taking some time off now, to prepare for the St. John’s Therapy Dog test.
Thank you Ms Marjorie Martorella for awarding Diesel Group 1 and Best Bred-By in Group at the Oakville KC shows on September 14.  Picture to follow.
August has been a busy month! Diesel has a few more breed wins to his credit! He took back to back Group 1st wins in Barrie, under top competition. He then won the breed and group 1st again in Owen Sound. Select dog at the DOBE specialty and another breed and Group 1st in New Liskeard!  Now taking a week off and then it’s off to Markham!
At the Markham Kennel Club show August 22, 2013 Diesel won his first Best In Show. Thank you to Judge Mike Jackman for this award.  Currently #7 doberman in Canada!
Rumour had a fantastic weekend at Kilbride winning BOTH best puppy in specialty awards! Very proud of her and thank you to Hailey Griffith and family for showing her.  Ozzy made a cameo appearance and won best veteran at the DOBE specialty! Pretty good for a 9 year old!  Also Montgomery earned his first two points at his second ever show in Barrie!  We have a new GSP puppy here, a Remi x Kenny son Gatehouse Lock N’ Load, “Lola”.
Diesel is now a UKC Champion, and multi group winner.  He has earned one competition win towards his Grand Championship in UKC.  Diesel took a try at Lure Coursing too, but we will be working on his recall before trying for that title! Let’s say it wasn’t pretty!  Diesel is one point away from his CKC Grand Champion title as well.  He also attended a show in Madison OH early July and went BOW earning his very first AKC point from the bred-by class.
Also a new champion for Lucy x Trav is Lacey, Ch. Gatehouse A Christmas Wish, T.T. finished by her owner, Lyndsay Ferguson! Lacey is co-owned by Gatehouse. We have a few important birthdays this month!  Bubbles, Gatehouse By Indictment, T.T., turns 9 on the 24th of July and Ozzy, MBIMBS/MBISS/MBIS/CKC GREX./AKC/UKC Ch. Dreamseeker’s Wizard, T.T., CGN, CGC, CD, ROMC, SOM turned 9 on the 16th of July!
Another new Champion! Ch. Gatehouse K Hold Your Fire, T.T. “diesel” earned his Canadian Championship in 5 shows over two weekends! The next day, Diesel passed the Temperament Test to earn his T.T.  Also earning their T.T. was  Montgomery, Lacey, Fenris, Pinky, K.T., and Frankie! Congrats to everyone!
Diesel’s first show out as a special and he wins best of opposite over some of Canada’s top dobermans! Rumour wins her first Puppy Group and has six points to date!
Diesel wins Best of Opposite Saturday at the all breed show in Dorchester and Best of Opposite Sex in Speciality at the Thames Valley specialty under breeder judge B. MacDonald.  And, Rumour is now BPIG Ch. Gatehouse Scandalous! Finished in 3 weekends!

Please see our “Links” page. We have added some new links with information to the different health registries and studies that we utilize.  In your research for a new puppy, please take a few minutes to review these links and familiarize yourself with the various health issues that dobermans can have.
Present Gatehouse Puppy Owners, please take a moment to complete our new survey. Click here to take survey
In the past 24 hours I have had a wonderful response from many of our puppy owners.  Thank you for participating in this simple survey.  I hope to have the results in the next few weeks, and will post them here.
You will notice a few changes to our website. It is a work in progress. If you have any questions regarding our upcoming plans for future litters, or the health tests and results on any of our dogs please feel free to contact us directly! We are happy to share our future plans, and talk about our dogs and their health clearances. This goes for other breeders who feel the need to know exactly what we are up to :-). I am more than happy to share with you as well! Although we may not have a litter planned currently, we are more than happy to direct you to a breeder that has puppies planned.
We plan to attend the Scarborough Kennel Club show March 8, 9, and 10th, 2013. This show is located in Orangeville, Ontario. There will be a dobe booster on Saturday and a great opportunity to meet lots of doberman breeders and see lots of dobermans. If you are considering a doberman puppy in the future, this would be a good place to be!

Looking forward to a busy year. Several dogs only need a few singles to finish their Canadian Championship, and we plan on doing a few American shows this year as well.
